英文的幽默往往也是同等于我们中文的谐音梗，我们听不懂英语笑话，往往是由于我们不懂其中的谐音，还有就是一词多义以及一语双关……
英文中有个单词是“homophonic”，它的意思就是谐音的，同音异义的；名词是“homophone"。源自于希腊语，前缀是Home就是same，similar的意思，phone/ic就是sound，voice的意思。
谐音梗大概是人类的共同爱好，每种语言里都有谐音梗，有的真的很好笑，很巧妙，耐人寻味……
”A bicycle can't stand on its own because it is two-tired/too tired“(很累)
”What happens to a frog park illegally? It gets toad/told.“(它会变成癞蛤蟆/它会被告发）
”Dogs are such good companions because they're so paw-sitive/positive.“
”Knock knock! Who's there? Nobel. Nobel who? You got No Bell, so I figured I would knock.“
”Cats are wonderful friends because they have great purr-sonalities/personality.“
还有就是“homographic"，它的意思是同形不同义的，也就是一个单词有多种意思。往往可以达到讽刺和搞笑的效果。
”If you burn the candle form both ends, you are not as bright as you think." （bright有明亮和聪明的意思）
”How do fish save their money? They save it in the river bank.“（bank是银行的意思，而river bank就是河床的意思）
另外一种就是Pun，也就是我们说的一语双关。
”I am totally behind this experiment.“
” I can count on you.“
”I am not a photographer, but I can picture you and me together.“
其实，谐音梗和双关语在任何语言中都属于高级语言技巧，我们需要对这门语言有非常高的理解和驾驭能力才能理解，这可能就是我们不懂英语幽默的原因吧！
